Thanks for posting it here. Did you find it on US Ebay?
Yes, US ebay find. Thanks for posting it here. Did you find it on US Ebay?
Thanks for the update. Interesting reading. Funny that Resistol would make that style hat for the US market, doubt very many would've been made. No matter, I like it!!! I took those photos right out of the box, the feather was a bit brittle and beginning to loose pieces and stems so that is the debris that is showing on the hat brim in the photoWegener had the Resistol license but I think this one is American. It's highly likely Resistol sourced the hat. Here is a Wegener licensed Resistol.

Alpine hats like the one you posted were sold by American hat companies. Some were made by the American hat companies and some were sourced (felt hood, capeline, semi finished hat, finished hat). Thanks for the update. Interesting reading. Great find, Steve and in remarkable condition for its age. I have seen a hat with a similar liner on occasion, but that one was completely toast.Carl Jacob Halle a/S., measures 57cm, probably WWI era maybe later. No company mark but probably made by one of the hat companies in Guben or Luckenwalde. Currently I can't make out the symbol above Carl Jacob on the liner. It has a over welt brim with a slightly offset smaller scale bow and a unique shinny lime green liner. The Velour is in very good condition and has a very nice glossy finish and fine hand.

Stefan, Thank you. It might be later so hard to date. Also another mystery hat regarding hat company.Great find, Steve and in remarkable condition for its age. I have seen a hat with a similar liner on occasion, but that one was completely toast.
Stefan, Great vintage store haul!Part II
Matt, Fantastic! It looks like Shooting Hat. Also super that you have a hat from your Great Grandfather. Another hat with no company mark.My great-grandfathers hunting hat - should be 1930s:
simple design without lining; no manufacturer's label; ribbon and binding made of simple woollen fabric
Sorry for the bad pictures!
Matt, That is a great looking hat! It looks like it's in new condition. That is great you have a hat from your grandfather. I am thinking VHG might be VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben. What is the coating (might be the photo) on the inside of the sweatband?
