While rooting around an Anteek/Junque store in Dutchess County NY with my girlfriend, we found this interesting stove. A little Googling revealed that it's a Kalamazoo Stove Company product from about 1936. It uses both gas AND wood. It obviously needs some serious work, but we're thinking it might make a great addition to the kitchen of her charming little 1832 farmhouse. One concern I have is that I think the fire box front is missing. But there are a couple of good wood stove repair specialists out there, so we'll see how it works out. Anyhow, I think it's super cool.
Melissa's fingers can be seen peeking out from the left side.
Here's what the left side looks like behind the door. I found a very similar one for sale on Ebay, and it has a cover over the part that's open in this picture.
