Not sure if it's fake or real but with the Velcro closure I suspect imitation fur. Very soft though. And housebroken.
I think it's a hat embellishment [huh] . It does fit comfortably on my size 7 (22" circumference) head but I'm not willing to do a photograph to prove that.
