I have a beautiful early 1950 stratoliner.
A very unique color. Earth tone that looks olive in different light. I have some comparison pixlcturs against my 48 strat.
I will call this a survivor hat. I found it and knew I could clean it and turn it back to what it was. It was given a cleaning. There is one issue at the rear where the ferrule in the reed connected. The picture will identify the area.
The seam is fine and all other stitching is great. Seems the guy made a copper shim and pinched it back there at the ferrule between the sweat and felt. It resulted in that affected area. As you will see in the picture it is not a major issue. The overall condition of the hat is perfect. The felt is superb...no stains no markings...
