Purchased recently a few months ago, I've resigned myself to the fit being a bit off after wearing and breaking it in at home. Even though I bought it new from Rivet and Hide, there were already some signs of break in. Not sure how long they had it in stock, how many people tried it on, if it was returned, etc. Been putting off selling it since the pattern and leather are both amazing but I guess I can fund another jacket purchase. Plus I still have another single rider style jacket.

Asking $1750 USD Paypal FF + shipping from Canada, also have it listed on Ebay: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/407314234558 (Also have some of my brother's Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Ferragamo jackets listed that he wants me to help him sell)

Measurements:

Chest: ~40.9 inches
Shoulder: ~19.3 inches
Waist: ~20.1 inches
Opening: ~19.7 inches
Vertical Length: ~26 inches
Sleeve length: ~25.4 inches

• 1.3mm tea-core horsehide (Shinki Hikaku, Japan)
• Semi-aniline finish with matte black appearance

How is the vertical length of 26 inches measured? Is it from the base of the collar to the bottom hem ? Any fit pics that you could share as well?

It's measured from the highest tip of the collar to the bottom from the back. Here's a fit pic, sorry for the dirty mirror. I'm 5'8'' 150lbs.

Thanks. What issue are you finding with the fit?
I just feel that the shoulders and sleeves are slightly too big for me. The way the shoulders sit and drape doesn't feel quite right when I have just a shirt on underneath and I don't like sleeves getting in the way of my hands. Granted the sleeves actually look fine in that fit pic I took there, normally I'd need an extra layer on for them to look like that. Guess it's just the angle.

It was only my second time purchasing a leather jacket like this online and back when I was overweight I never really paid much attention to the fit details. Originally I had wanted the HS001 but Rivet and Hide increased the price on it and other stores don't cover the import fees so I went with the HS005.

OK. Yes, the shoulder measurements do seem a tad larger than what the chest measurements would suggest. In the pic everything looks fine though.

Does the HS005 run true to size in the chest? Curious since the shoulders feel big for you. Would a 38 have been a better pick? Thanks for the measurements and fit pic, by the way.

While the jacket's chest measurement IS larger than its tag size I think 1 inch of chest ease is pretty rare and less than what most people would be fine with. I think a size 38 HS005 might've been to tight but a size 38 HS001 would have been perfect.

Thanks, that’s really helpful. Good to know the HS001 cut would’ve fit better. Appreciate the detail on chest ease.

You should keep wearing it. I have the same jacket and she shoulders eventually break down and mould to your body. It’s honestly one of the most underrated jackets on the market I didn’t realize how deceptively thick or rigid the Shinki is but it’s some of the nicest leather you can get today. Flat head gets first choice of Shinki and your jacket is a “stockburg” version, meaning it was made by hand by flat heads best artisans. Zip it up and put a fleece jacket over it and wear that around for a day and it will break the shoulders down really quickly. I reach for my flat head over my Freewheelers a lot of times because it’s a little longer and allows an untucked shirt or button up. Just my 2 cents….

I'm 5'9" and 160LBs and somehow my size 40 feels bigger than it is on you.

I have been on the same boat wanting to size down. I was fitted at the Flat head store in Tokyo and he laughed out loud when I wanted to try 38 lol. He also insisted that the shoulders and arm hole will relax over wears.

I have just been putting off wearing it cuz I don't know what I'm doing with it. It's just such a great jacket...
