Time has come to pass on some hats. Might as well start with a good one.
If you know hats you know this is a hard to find, much sought after BRE Western, and rarer still in Clear Beaver. Even more unusual is the contrasting 1/8” bound edge. Some discussion of this hat in the Nutria threads.
At 90+ yrs the felt is in amazing condition. No holes, cuts, mothing, ribbon and binding are unfrayed, stitching is without flaw. Just a smudge or two on the felt.
Felt is thin, dense, molds to any crease without steam.
Any knowledgable collector will realize this hat is special and would be a premier hat in any collection.
Flaws: the sweatband is fragile, stiil stitched in well but split from my foolish attempt to stretch it.
Completely wearable, tight fit at 71/8. Tag size 7.
Crown: 7”
Brim:31/2”
Block: 406?
Lot: 6195
Price: $500 PP F&F reasonable offers considered please no drama.
Shipping: on me via USPS CONUS
Thanks
