I own one of these (in this size even), and they're really nice. Think of it like the best fitting chore coat you can get (not like a type 3 denim jacket) with added features. Slimmer in the arms than a Carhartt, not overly long or huge in the body. The broken twill is great stuff, substantial but comfortable and easy to wear.
