Up for sale is a super rare Schott x RJL 641HH limited edition in dark brown, mint condition from a pet free smoke free home, tagged size 36 but can easily accommodate someone in size 38 as well (I wear a standard 38 in most leather jackets, and can live in this jacket very comfortably), please see the measurements at the end of description.
Unlike the standard chrome tanned Schott horsehide that is glossy and feels somewhat plastic at the beginning (yes I know with wear the sheen will eventually go away), this one is made of veg tanned Italian horsehide with a beautiful grainy texture and teacore effect. The horsehide leather is medium weight, very pliable and has a soft hand, will mold to your body very easily. In terms of weight and leather thickness, it’s on par with a Schott 618, very easy to wear yet still feels substantial.
RJL is a store based in California, and had this special run only release in 2015. I bought this jacket in practically new condition in 2018, and have worn it very infrequently for less than a dozen times, since I have a large jacket rotation and found that I preferred cross zippers more often. As you can see it’s still in mint condition only with some beautiful creases in the sleeves, and you can still enjoy the pleasure of the break-in process. The teacore effect is only shown in very few places like the cuffs and armpits, so there’s still a long way to go.
Approximate measurements:
Shoulder to shoulder: 17’’
Armpit to armpit: 20.5’’
Sleeve length: 24.25’’
Back length: 25’’
Asking for $480 PayPal F&F shipped CONUS.
Thanks for your time and feel free to ask questions.
