Schott leather Trucker / Type-III jacket. Size 48.

€350 (shipped to the EU). Elsewhere €20. FF, IBAN.

⛏ INFO ⛏
I wear a size 40 to 42, this jacket is a size 48 and I've been wearing it for a straight week now. Don't know what to say that'd glaze it more than that.

Supreme in every regard. Very thick leather with a sort of an oil-pull feel to it - I'm pretty sure it's their earlier Naked cow, lined with warm quilt. Cannot not mention those heavy-duty snaps they don't make no more, the kind you can only unfasted from a certain angle.

Comfortable & versatile beyond words.

⛏ CONDITION ⛏
The jacket had been worn, displaying expected signs of careful use, extending no further than creases and a couple of loose threads in the lining. Barely any fading on the leather. In short, flawless.

Except for the hanging loop which snapped. Why even bother installing it on a jacket that's nearly 3 kg heavy, will forever remain a mystery.

⛏ SIZE & FIT ⛏
Tagged as a 48.
Very boxy, roomy pattern but in a right kind of way. Because of its short length, combined with an exaggerated, aggressive V (tapered) shape and long sleeves, the oversized fit of the jacket is not affected by its size number so you can easily wear it even if you wear a much smaller size (and don't car about the fitted leather jacket look which you cannot achieved with this jacket anyway)

The measurements are...
• Chest width (armpit to armpit): cca. 68 cm / 26.5"
• Shoulders width (back): 58 cm / 23"
• Waist width (max.): cca. 54 cm / 21.5"
• Sleeve length (outside curve): cca. 64 cm / 25"
• Back length (without collar): 61cm / 21"

Can you contrast your impression of this Schott vs the Levi's you have in a 46? A comparison separate from physical dimensions.

I had been thinking about that as well but I cannot pass verdict either way. Different though they are, both jackets are on an equal level in every aspect.

There's a certain refinement about a Levi's, owing to their commitment to fully emulate the Type-III in leather. Likewise, Schott appears slightly sturdier though this could be attributed to the aforementioned refinements that Schott, in contrast, chose to forgo, opting for more efficient tailoring methods.

There is the difference between leather - Leather Levi's used is definitely of a more elegant kind (it is similar to Vicenza that Aero is using) which would reflect wear more readily while Schott used their toughest hide for their jacket but both are of equal weight and pliability.

But other than that, I simply couldn't pick one jacket over the other.

I can fit either of these jackets, one more comfortably than the other however, you chose to wear (for you) the more ill fitting of the two and you did that intentionally.

So the same question asked in a different way... 'what is it about the larger jacket that would make an artist choose to forgo proper fit'?

I have another of your jackets from a couple years ago.
