This was produced as a commercial sample for a store in Taiwan. Johnson Leathers was the manufacturer of custom motorcycle jackets for a Japanese brand Westride under Westride label during roughly early 2000s to mid 2010s. back then, my friend, the store owner, was considering carrying JL products in the store, hence this quite unique commercial sample. I bought it from him. It's brand new, never used, has been stored in my closet ever since. due to weight increase, it doesn't fit me anymore. I decided to let it go.

It's a quite a proof that despite JL's crappy website design and poor marketing of their products . they do have a very high customization flexibility and the capacity to build high quality jackets.

This jacket is made of light weight 2.5oz Horween horsehide and fitted with deadstock US #10 brass Talon front zipper and Japanese repro brass Waldes pocket and cuff zippers. These hardware was sourced by the taiwan store and provided to JL. padded shoulder and elbow. Please note: it's made of lighter weight leather, so it's more for summer and spring or casual use.

Asking 650USD includding Post Office EMS shipping or Fedex Priority at extra cost
though I didn't confirm with JL for an exact quote, I believe a similar style is at
around or above the level of $1000.
Paypal FF prefered, 4.5% extra for a Paypal invoice.
Ships from Taiwan.

Label size 42 (slim fitting)
Detailed measurements:
shoulder seam to shoulder seam 47cm/18.5inch
chest from armpit to armpit 53.5cm/21inch
sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff end 63cm/24.75inch
back length excluding collar 64cm/25.2inch
jacket bottom width 51cm/20inch

Looks different from most Horween CXL I've seen... it looks rather more like Langlitz's cowhide. And way more grain than I'd expect from an unused jacket. It looks rather broken in! Either way, it looks fantastic. GLWS.

It's Horween horsehide, but not the overdye(teacore) and oily chrome excel. I'll need to check with my friend to ascertain the exact kind of leather. I think the grainy surface may be partially due to the its light weight and soft characteristics, and you're right that this jacket require almost no break in

Looks like Vermont Horse. Pigment over veg brown core. Very good leather.
JL makes awesome jackets. Your friend did a great job with the specs. GLWS
