Hello,

Up for sale is a mechanical wristwatch of recent manufacture. I believe this watch was made by Pobeda or Zim of Russia which is now out of business. It is about 37mm's in diameter, and comes with a leather band. These are fairly nice and have a movement type that has been made since at least the 1950's. $45.00.

Are you sure of the dating? I need a Soviet watch, but an early 50's might suffice. Any more info would help. I'll take it if I can peg the dating more specifically.
Thanks!

Thanks! By the way, exactly what year/style Russian watch are you looking for? I find watches from time to time from my different sources.

That is a big watch! Only thing missing is the pendulum! I have a newer Boktok. It runs but the mechanism has plastic parts. It also shows the date. Case is cheap. I do like your however. hmmm. Thinking...

I've never heard of a "Boktok" though I have heard of Vostok ("East" -- written BOCTOK in Cyrillic). I have two of them and I can tell you they're quite hefty and built like tanks. lol Do you have a pic of your watch?

nothing really important to add, but unless the modeled wrist is really tiny, the 37mm case measurement looks a little off. That looks closer to 47mm, if that's a mans wrist.

Haha, sorry, I was basically thinking aloud, and those muses weren't really connected. I know a bit about watches, I was just considering this one for my collection, as the only vintage or vintage style I currently have is a Benrus hand-wind.
