This is a pair of wool pants hand tailored from a 1940s sewing pattern. The fabric is original vintage wool flannel from the personal stock of a retired tailor, and is heavyweight, 22 oz. per yard! This weight makes the trousers drape the way that vintage fabric does but modern lightweight fabric cannot. The trousers are high waisted with wide legs, cuffs, and twin English (forward-facing) pleats. There is a small watch pocket and a single rear pocket with a flap. The fly has a curved metal zipper specially made for vintage trouser flies, two hooks and a button. Both the fly and the side pockets were finished with an invisible pick stitch. Belt loops and internal brace buttons. The lining is a traditional striped fabric with a short curtain. The trousers are in excellent condition, having rarely been worn.
