FROM AERO'S WEBSITE:
Aero's vintage 1950s-style motorcycle jacket design is inspired by the iconic style originally made famous by Marlon Brando in 1953's The Wild One. This heavy horsehide jacket includes all of the classic features mentioned above: two deep zip-closing handwarmer pockets with heavy linings, a deep breast pocket with zip, a small stud-down ticket pocket, plus studded epaulettes and swing gussets in the back for extra movement. The sleeves have adjustable zip cuffs and the jacket is fastened by a cross zip. You can adjust the waist using the attached belt.
For many riders, the aesthetic appeal and the sense of history and nostalgia that these jackets provide outweigh the more advanced safety features of modern motorcycle gear. Wearing a genuine leather motorcycle jacket from Aero is like taking a step back in time to an era when motorbikes and leather jackets were synonymous with rebellion, freedom and adventure. There's a certain romance to that idea for bikers and non-bikers alike, and it's a magic that modern jackets simply can't replicate.

AERO SIZING ADVICE:
This classic 1950s-style motorcycle jacket offers a relaxed fit around the shoulders and chest, and a strong taper to the waist.
We generally recommend selecting your usual size for the intended fit (normally the closest to your relaxed chest measurement).
THIS JACKET:
This is an absolutely wonderful example of Aero's classic Motorcycle jacket!
It is made from a lovely from a heavy, waxy, horsehide that will last for simply decades. It's nicely broken in, and so is wonderfully soft and supple without losing any of its sturdiness. And it's developing some beautioful grain!
Unlike the more usual plain cotton or cotton tartan lining, this jacket has a lovely sort and comfortable blanket lining (likely wool) in classic Blackwatch tartan.
The zippers all work beautifully smoothly. The main zipper is a bulletproof YKK (#10), while the sleeve and pocket zippers are all Talons. The sleeve zipper and main zippers are antique brass coloured, while the pocket zippers (including the pulls) are all blacked out. NOTE: The main zipper has the "insert" on the right-hand side, and the bit where it's inserted on the left. Not a flaw and it works perfectly!
The jacket has a couple of minor pinholes in the lapels from pins (not my doing!); the bottom part of the stud to attach the lapel to the front of the jacket is missing on the left-hand side--but this doesn't affect how the jacket looks or wears and so can simply be ignored. There is some minor verdigris patination to some of the studs--but this is minor and could be easily wiped off if you want. (I'd leave it as patina!) There's also a tiny rub on one sleeve, which is again, just patina. But it's shown anyway!
The jacket carries Aero's Blue Label, which might or might not denote an apprentice work in a jacket of this age. But the quality is such I doubt it.
The Motorcycle Jacket currently costs c. $1600 with a 10 to 12 week wait; this does not include any of the upgrades, such as the blanket lining or the blacked-out zippers.
So, how about $475, or offer, boxed, shipped, and insured in the CONUS, and sent with signature confirmation?
