A rare beast. It's worth hurrying up who was looking for such a jacket
Absolutely this particular one is made from the famous 2016 batch… the new 42“ I got was made in 2021 and there is definitely a difference! The older one is more beefy and has much more grain, maybe a reason because FW isn’t able to find HH matching there preferences today… and they are doing only very limited batches atm, so you are not or rarely able to find a FW leather jacket at today‘s market.

To illustrate the difference between the 2016 and 2021 shinki hh batch for FW, here are a few photos. I personally like the outer appearance of the earlier 2016 batch better. It reminds me more of the original jackets from the 40/50. Of course, this is always a matter of personal taste. But i can well imagine that FW is currently, as mentioned, not getting leathers that meet their expectations. Will post these info also in "show your graining".

Old one has better grain, but I do like the deeper black of the new one more

Coooool, I can relate to that. I have RMC J-22 and a newer 2019 J-100 and I can see the difference in the Hide the newer hide is darker and patina faster (TeaCore is easier to show). Also, the newer hide is softer to the touch, and in my opinion, develops better rolls. This is Very Interesting.
