You can edit the thread title to add "sold" by clicking the three horizontally spaced dots next to "unwatch" located to the above right of the original post in the thread, and selecting "edit".
I usually don't bother with the title page in single item sales threads, as you can just post "sold" towards the end or whatever, but editing the title saves people searching through a mult-item thread once everything is gone...
