FS: Bates 1970s moto jacket, 42, dark chocolate brown, near mint

Catch and release here, too large for me. Very little wear evident on this 1970s Bates (on arms only), as close to time capsule condition as you can get without being NOS. All zippers original and working, gold lining pristine, internal pocket, very little wear visible on the label (size 42) or anywhere for that matter. 1970 teardrop Talons on pocket zippers. Measurements zipped up and lying flat:

Shoulder seam to shoulder seam - 18.5"
Pit to pit (slightly stretched to hold shape) - 22"
Sleeves - 25"
Length from bottom of collar to hem - 28"

Leather feels substantial, not overly thick or thin. Asking $185 shipped PayPal FF within CONUS.

PS - for color that is the truest to the original see my post below with two Bates jackets - one black for comparison and this one.

These are so cool. I completely regret letting mine go…for anybody interested here is a fit photo of how this jacket fits. Just a kick ass, rock and roll 70’s classic. IMO better looking than any of the Aero CR W/collar options and cooler than the LW Suburban at a fraction of the cost.

Brown is tough to photograph, let me see if I can take pics that are more representative. It is dark brown, like chocolate.

I attach a comparison with my black Bates (on left). On my laptop the color of the brown Bates is close to being true. The jacket is close to mint.

Sure. I am 5'9" and 145 lbs, with a 38" chest. This jacket is too big, feels like a true 42. I take a 38 in most modern jackets and a 40 in most vintage jackets. I was hoping this Bates would be smaller than its tagged size but it isn't.

What's the bottom hem measurement on this one?

Where the zipper ends, 20 3/4. Bottom hem flares out a bit (see pic), and is 21 1/4 " wide.
