This is one of Akubra's poly straws, I love them! I have 2 capricorns and this one. only trouble is I never wear it, The brim is just a hair too wide for me, a hair over 3". and would like to swap this for an Akubra Rink or sell it so I can buy a rink

it's a true 7 1/4 and I tacked in some green felt to help reduce glare (Akubra sells tem like this as an option (Greeen under) but I didn't want to underbrim in the back (where it snaps up) to be green. it's easily removeable with no damage to the hat. or you can leave it in and it goes unnoticed (see bottom pic)
