FS: Aero jacket in UK

I bought this in the 'Grand Theft Aero' sale direct from Aero last year, but I really don't wear it enough to warrant keeping it.

I can't see an exact match in Aero's range for the pattern, it's closest to a Teamster with a simplified back, or a Maxwell with a slightly different front!

You can see where the horseleather label has been unpicked, that is because this is a steerhide jacket, not horse leather. I assume this was a jacket originally sold as horse leather, but then returned once proven to be steerhide (the scandal that brought Aero's founder back into the company and the eventual criminal court case brought against the management that he had left in charge).

It's a heavy, extremely well made jacket. Size is 38, and I would say it fits true to that (with room to layer underneath).

Pit to pit is 23", shoulders are 18.5", length (base of collar to hem) is 28.5" and sleeves are 25" from shoulder to cuff.

It's a lovely thing and weighs a ton! I would like SOLD £260 SOLD posted in the UK, payment by bank transfer (Paypal is OK if the fees are covered). Not looking to post outside the UK, as I suspect the postage will be a lot!

(Not going to drop the price any further, think I'll just keep it and wear it.) Nope, still not wearing it, so back for sale.

Love this jacket, whatever it is called (or made of). Unfortunately too small for me, but the story behind it is great. This jacket could go down in history as a one of a kind. We should come up with a name for it.

During the Lauder-management era, Aero had a very open policy on modifications, so it's plausible any diferences between stock models and this jacket were down to buyer request. Also possible it was a modified Stuart: when Lauder left Aero, Aero made clear that they believed he had designed the Stuart and so they stopped making it; the Maxwell was, if memory serves, the button-up HB that replaced it. IIRC, the Stuart had no front yoke and one breast pocket on the left, but this could have been a custom request.

Obviously it is one of the jackets that got hit by the storse fraud. That said, if Aero have been happy to sell it again relabelled, then it'll be a fine quality jacket in heavy steer. (Some of the jackets from that period were made from an unholy mix of FQHH and storse panels; I believe Ken has made it very clear those would never be put on the market again!).

Looks very nice, Sadly too small for me or I'd snap it up quickly. Looks like the brown version of the same leather as my Bootlegger (also up for sale) which is tagged FQHH but may indeed be very, very heavy steer....

It's a lovely hide and a lovely jacket, I was very pleased to pick it up in the GTA sale, but I've realised that I really want a zipped jacket, and something in a lighter hide.

Nope, you're entirely right, I must have written down the measurement wrong when I did it! Back length is actually 28.5" to base of collar, having just checked again.
