Jean Peille homburg in black. Not sure, but i think it's pre-war. Great hat, came in a little dirty, but it was easily to clean and to shape. I think it's made of woolfelt. What do you think @Mean Eyed Matt ? One spot in the brim, but overall in a good condition. It's a great hat!

Love that one, Marcel. I would like to agree with the assessment of the two Steves that this is very likely a pre-war wool felt. Great find from a great manufacturer!

OK, we have a thread for German/Austrian hats and makers,
so let's have one for all those vintage Chapeau and information about the makers.
I know there's more than a few on the Lounge who have and appreciate the French hats.
We also have French and European members here, who should be able to enlighten us somewhat.

I'll add mine when able but let's make a start.
Let's see those Mossants and Flechets.

Lets go!

I realize that I am coming to this thread only a short 17 years after it was created, but this question on French Hatmakers has been a hot topic in our store. We obviously carry Laulhère, but I am always open learning about others.

Did i already said that i love french hats? This one is no exception. A beautiful french velour. Segret Limoges Caraymaud succr 'perguy luxe'. I don't know anything more then AI has told me. But it's a very well made old hat. My guess 30's, 40's. Very cool find, Marcel. In nice condition too. Glad the French took good care of their velour hats.
