FORUM ADVICE: Preventing color transfer from newly dyed suede shoes...

Greetings, all! I recently had a pair of suede shoes dyed dark brown and I love how they turned out, but as with any roughout color change, there looms the inevitable issue of dye transfer, especially onto pants. Historically, I've relied on Angelus Water & Stain Repellant spray, but I wonder if there isn't a more effective product/method? In searching for the "ultimate" solution, I've come here in hopes of gathering success stories from the forum!

I'm particularly interested in:
  • What products you've used to seal the dye (e.g., fixatives, waterproofing sprays, etc.)?
  • Any specific brands or techniques that worked well for you?
  • How long you waited before wearing them?
  • Whether you had issues with color rubbing off over time?
Any advice or firsthand experiences would be greatly appreciated! Also, apologies in advance if this has been covered elsewhere on the Lounge. Thanks so much!
