Leads me to believe he faked his "death",...in order to make more cash.

Not unlikely, after all he had been twice convicted of fraud by the time of his death. There were dozens of pending cases which were mooted by his passing. Then there were the bankruptcies. P***ing on "Winnie the Pooh", The furniture line.

A great success, he was, for sure.





He was very cannily marketed, but I hardly think that his work is

You might laugh but those old paint by numbers paintings are in high demand now by collectors and decorators.

Hmph. I've seen the dogs playing poker, I've seen the big-eyed children, I've seen September Morn candy boxes, but I've never seen a Kinkaid painting in my life. Some success.

His paint droppings can usually be found on cards, mugs and other imprintable things at any retail store, often doused with glitter and other garish gimmickry. Also if you hit any yard sales you're bound to see his puzzles.

Well, I'm pretty jaded. You see one lighthouse painting, you seen them all.

I can attest that this is true. I wish someone would paint one with something even slightly exciting happening, like a couple arguing in front of it, or seagulls stealing food from tourists' beach blankets.

I agree! I watched some movie about porcelain dolls coming to life and killing people when I was a kid. It scarred me for life. I do not like porcelain dolls now thanks to my mom.
