SOLD. Thanks all ~
FOR SALE: Toys McCoy “Wild One” x UNSUNG Engineer Boots 10D // Black, Wickett & Craig Latigo
Straight from Japan, then to Nashville, these boots have had the royal treatment. I bought them new from a Japanese seller, and quickly realized they were going to be too loose, so I sent them to Grant in February to get them correct:
All in all, the boots cost around $1200 to get to the states after tax and customs, and I spent ~ $850 on the work with Unsung–which was meticulous, and delightful. I cannot say ENOUGH about how amazing their service and products are–simply exceptional. I love them but as a bit of a utilitarian, having more than 2 pairs of boots causes me anxiety, and these simply do not get worn enough. They need to go to someone who will wear them, and wear them a lot.
See pictures. They include some shots from Unsung’s bench during the rebuild, as well as some current shots to see how they’re wearing. The toes are rolling in a gorgeous way.

Straight from Japan, then to Nashville, these boots have had the royal treatment. I bought them new from a Japanese seller, and quickly realized they were going to be too loose, so I sent them to Grant in February to get them correct:
- Relast to bring insteps and volume in (these wear and look similar to Clinch CN Last)
- Hand welted by Grant (see photos)
- Maintained original chiseled shape, while reducing “made for everyone” volume
- Premium footbed and sole rebuild.
- Replaced instep straps (to match shape) with more dense Wickett & Craig Latigo (Sturdy!! Won’t stretch out).
- Reshaped / rebuilt heel closer to 2023 Clinch / Role Club Woodsman (see pics)
- Resoled with 1/2 black Dr. Sole.

Sizing references:
- My feet both measure 27.5cm
- There’s ~ 1cm+ of room from my toes to the end of the boot, allowing for that nice final “roll” in the toe
- I’m a standard D width
- These will fit snug, but the pass-thru is forgiving, as it was unchanged
- If you’re a size E, these are not for you.
Boots I’ve had in the past that fit (so you’ll know if these fit you)
- Wesco Mister Lou 10D
- John Lofgren Engineers 9.5D
- Role Club 1940 9.5D (and 10D, I could wear both)
