Hey gang,

Long timer lurker, first time poster.

I picked up this beautiful jacket at The Flat Head flagship store in Tokyo this past November (2024). I let the store clerk talk me into sizing up from a 40 to a 42 at the last minute (I've since read a few posts here that share a similar story). I just about immediately realized after leaving the store that the jacket is too wide in the shoulders, too long in the arms, and too long in the body. It was the evening on my last day in Tokyo, so I took the jacket from the store, packed it up and headed home to LA.

I've held onto it unworn hanging in my closet, hoping I'd change my mind on sizing, but I've come to terms. This isn't the right fit for me (I do want a size 40 though...).

But maybe it's the right fit for one of you!

You can see from the photos that the leather has a spectacular sheen and depth to it.

I've owned that jacket in a 42. It's certainly not supposed to be 28" in length. Are you measuring with the collar included?

Thanks for the pic... yep, I figured that's what the issue was. The length measurement starts at the seam where the collar meets the body. That collar is around 2 inches tall, so if we subtract that, the length measurement should be around 26... bang on the money for that jacket in that size. Beautiful piece. I'd take the measurement from the collar seam to the bottom hem and post that, just to be super accurate. GLWTS!
