For sale - a circa 1960's Bates heavy black steerhide café style jacket with a short mandarin-esque collar plus padded shoulders and elbows - labeled size 44 LL. Original Bates and size label is all there. Retains original gray satin liner in practically mint condition minus some minor soiling.

Original Serval main zip (slight separation of male tab @ the bottom, about 1/2", but can still be zipped with care no problem), original Talon tear drop chest/pocket pull zippers, and the original Talon zippers on both sleeve cuffs - all 7 zippers work great.

Steerhide leather has slight scuffs and marks, however no cuts or rips that I can find. Leather feels supply and in good condition.

Asking $275 (includes shipping) anywhere in CONUS. Payment via Paypal "friends style" or add 3% for a Paypal invoice.

Measurements while zipped:

Pit to pit: 22.5"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 19.5"
Shoulder seam to sleeve cuff: 26" (great for riding)
Back of collar seam to bottom hem of jacket: 27.5"
Waist: 20" (jacket has an athletic taper)

Love these vintage Bates with the earlier "Tailored by Bates" label. One of the best vintage cafe racers around IMHO. Can't believe you're letting this one go...

Howdy Rockabilly.

Mmmm. For fit, what size do wear in other makes of leather jackets? How is the fit in the shoulders, armholes and sleeves.

I'm typically a size 46-48 in vintage leather jackets. I'm 6'2" @ 215-225 depending on the time of year...

The fit is nice in the shoulders, armholes, and sleeves - I just can't zip the jacket.. I'm too fat.
