Update, the Arcadia has sold so I'll be holding onto this for now. But I will sell it later on, and when I do I'll reignite this thread.

The promised measurements:
Pit to pit 21.5"
Shoulders 17.75"
Sleeves 25.5"
Length 23.75"

I remember the days when people would open a classified with current photos, measurements, a description of the item being sold, and an asking price - from the word 'Go'. The ad would remain up until the item sold, with occasional bumps and occasional price drops.

I don't recall seeing such slow release of basic, relevant information, or a thread bumped to announce a price INCREASE. Nor have I encountered so much 'Now you see it, now you don't - but stay tuned' type marketing. I guess you gotta drive interest.

Somebody buy this jacket so he can close the thread. Wait, it's no longer for sale. But will be!

Oh dear. I seem to have annoyed a few members. Not my intention.

In my defence the first words of this thread state that it would either be this OR the Arcadia that would be sold. Not both.

Selling the Arcadia was my preference so if I've achieved that now by putting this one in the shop window do I feel bad about it? Not really. Maybe we can say I feel as bad about that as do the members who have persistently low balled me behind the scenes with BS rationales included to 'justify' their greasiness.

In short, this is a buyer's market here and shifting a jacket for a fair price ain't easy. A lot of us know this. Sellers invariably need to sell themselves short to see results and thus most who regularly would like to sell jackets likely prefer eBay for this reason .I on the other hand have now sold three jackets on here this year and none on eBay, and all went for less than I think I could have got over there. But no regrets. So on here I do feel like I'm in credit and if this thread has antoganised anyone then oh well, que sera obladi oblada. As I said, that wasn't the gameplan.

Back to the price of bread. I have something new incoming very soon and if that one scratches my itch then contrary to what the very first sentence of this thread says, I WILL part with this too, in which case I will offer it here and for a bit less than what I perceive its market value to be. But I can't do that today. So sorry guys, I'm gonna have to reserve the right to sell it when it suits me

Before I go here's another thought. Just as members are free to whine on threads or to send me frosty messages or to low ball in the darkness they are also free to use a bit of old fashioned initiative. Shooting me an offer for this one carries with it no danger and the worst that happens is I say no. But if it's an offer I can't refuse.. well then in those unlikely curcumstsnces I suppose 2 plus 2 would equal four.

Nothing new Trapp. It's the extreme ego. Very identifiable in the ramblings. Fails to see the difference. Been there from the start.

Trapp's interested (or was) in the jacket. I'm interested in selling it. Your purpose for being on this thread is what sir?

Whatever I want my purpose to be. This is not a closed forum, section or thread for only your use. I haven't criticized your item, just your attitude similar to Trapp's questioning. I answered his question with my opinion. You know, kinda like..what your long diatribe means in short: 'I am right and you losers and whiners are wrong'. You spelled that out throughout this thread with a back and forth selling (maybe) and price hike ( maybe ) technique. Something not common to this forum. Members posting in this section know that they are selling, how much they want ( unless they reduce the price ) and most often don't insult other members. Of course if you're full of yourself none of that is of any matter.

I've seen plenty of sales threads where I didn't care for the seller's approach and you know what I did in those situations? Nothing. I kept my mouth shut because stinking up somebody else's For Sale thread in my view is very bad form. I'd say it shows a lack of respect for both the classifieds section as a whole, and for the seller's right to sell as he sees fit. Bear in mind here that nobody has to buy anything. Buying is optional. If you don't like a sales thread opting out and ignoring it is surely the polite thing to do. Your extreme ego comment is plain rude, and in the circumstances, kind of ironic too - for it is you who it would appear has elected himself guardian and enforcer of sales etiquette in the classifieds. I on the other hand have not once interfered with another member's for sale thread, nor will I ever

Naw you can try and turn it around all you want I suppose. However that does kind of prove my point. You are just upset that I brought up your extreme ego...and then my explaining further after you asked me my 'purpose here'.
You stated that it was 'bad form' that you upped your price and then proceeded in 'bad form' about accusing whining members here, etc. I pointed out more 'bad form' that you seemed to happily overlook. Again..you are keeping this going rather than considering that you have annoyed at least a couple other members for possibly good reason.
There is no way that I would 'stink up' a members ad with criticism of their sale item, even if it is awful or overpriced to me ( something I have defended in the past )...but your respect or etiquette seems practically non existent as you enjoy blaming others.

Ok, it can leave now

If anyone wants it, PM me for a shipping quote. Unfortunately I am not in the UK right now so shipping will be slower and a bit more expensive than usual, but it will be secure!

Highly surprised that nobody bought it yet and this "must have" masterpiece still waiting for a knowledgeable new wearer in size 38-40.
I'm almost sure it'll be sold very soon. It's one of the best repro jackets ever, in its every tiny detail.
Very like this piece of art.

Was the zipper changed? The stitching on the left lapel looks all over the place and shows multiple stitch lines...

Nope. But now that you mention this I've looked closely for the first time at those stitches and yep, laser straight they are not! A few wonky ones in there for sure. Believe it or not this was the one they photographed for their website.
Perhaps the original had some wonky stitching and they were aiming for a stitch for stitch repica..

Many thanks for bringing this up on here though Carlos, your eagle eye is much appreciated:rolleyes:

I do not post much, but I cannot resist here. This has been one of the more amusing threads. A narcissistic soap opera.

Now that's funny. Someone points out that your jacket has poor quality stitching and you attempt to diminish the obviously substandard workmanship by claiming that it was intentional. I have to try that excuse with my boss. "I intentionally did a bad job in order to make everyone else look better." Take a closer look. The stitching is not merely uneven and crooked. There is stitching next to open holes.

this was the one they photographed for their website.

That speaks volumes about the manufacturer. At least they are willing to put their poor workmanship front and center.

I guess the only remaining question is whether you will now raise the price again.

Best of luck with your sale.

Bro, with all due respect you sound like a catty schoolgirl. No interest in this jacket just on here to attack me. Pathetic use of your time

Fyi and for the other humourless dour souls on here that was a joke! You know, making light of a bad situation. Yeah I could have written lol or multiple smiley faces to make it crystal clear for your kind but I prefer not to telegraph my cracks. Carlos got it, I think.

Now kindly go away and don't come back.
