Calling the Irvin enthusiasts!!! What colour of the thicker sheepskins would be best for an Irvin jacket?? Any thoughts about that?

Love the Irvin.They adjusted the russet brown Steerhide and now it is a shade darker than before .I went with my bare chest measurement 85cm and went one size up .

The fur is a pale brown I think a little bit caramel .The napalan surface is dark brown .

Very nice simple, elegant pattern. Love the Langlitz style stitching. My only comment is on the forearm to wrist taper or lack there of? Or do you not have the zippers zipped up?

I had a Schott jacket like that. It was kind of cool at first, but it did bug me after a while. It was sort of like popeye forearm made.

Beautiful leather too. It can't be easy to work with that and it looks well made.

Thank you, It does tapered from forearm to cuff (I could do more but 6.5oz leather eats lots of inner space plus 12oz bull denim and I did not add zipper since I don't need it.

Few notes:
1. Super range of movement because of the underarm gusset, provide much better mobility than Lost Worlds 4oz J23.
2. Shawn nailed every measurement of the jacket, again.
3. Some of the designs did not fulfil but it turns out good looking nonetheless.
4. I wish the mouton collar was thicker.
5. The jacket doesn't feel heavy at all when I put it on, weight distribution is perfect.
6. The jacket took 6 months to finish. 4 months to ship the hide to Shawn, and 2 months making it.

Can't wait to see the final jacket. The Reddish Brown Irvin looks like it has more grain details on the Nappalan side (Thanks @PilotJens for the terms on these fur on hides). Looks better than my darker brown Irvin.

i'm into N1 deck-jackets since quiet some time - well deckjackets in general

once in while i saw pics of N1 jackets manufactured by BR and ToysMcCoy in leather

never saw one for sale in europe and in my size so i reached out to @Shawn Ali and asked him whether he could make one for me ...

Here is the result:

Jacket just like it arrived still without artwork:

the mouton is the color "blonde" - premium goat in seal - checkered liner in red (color pops much more in reality than on the pics)

handed the jacket to a dude i met on a online-market here in Germany (guy is american works in Europe) who did the artwork

Craftmanship and materials are splendid

You've got two extra lightening zippers for the hand warmers! Best quality hardware Shawn has now. The steer trims matches the darker Irvin better than the standard seal goat.

I am curious to see what it will actually look like. As we know, Shawn's camera and/or lighting isn't the best and often doesn't display the colors correctly.
But I am optimistic.
