Thanks! That helps a bunch. Those look like thick leathers which surprises me for some reason, always thinking goat is thinner. Do you happen to remember the thickness?
That style is also very similar to my HB Vanson Oxford, which I love.
Is the first jacket posted an olive colour, or is that deceiving?
The design I am aiming for would look good in a darker reddish brown colour, but not sure Shawn has that right now.
Appreciate the help!

Goat is light but not necessarily thin.

Hello, I was wondering if you got around to working with 5* on this type of design? I've been thinking of the same and have discussed with Shawn, a combination of his Cossack but with a different collar and buttons like the pic attached. He says he can do it but I want HH and it's not available yet. Might have to go with one of his existing leathers and therein lies the problem, it's so difficult to choose leathers without seeing them in person.
Don't know what hide that is but it's gorgeous.

Thickness of the premium goat must be 1.2 mm.
seal premium goat is best (imho). Buffalo is supposed to be good too, but I haven't seen it yet (only photo). deerskin would also be of interest to me. could be a next project.

With each order I have requested the absolute thickest and heaviest goat available. As Seb stated while they are fairly thick, they are not heavy in the least. It’s really that fact that has drawn me to goat, a hide I largely ignored for the majority of my time in this hobby. I now find it to be one of my favorites. I like the seal best because it feels very durable, more so than the others. Hard to quantify why. It just does.

Agreed. The only thing I can add is if 5* somehow manages to eliminate the squeakiness then it's really going to elevate the feel of it

The AN-6552 (G1) I have doesn’t have any noticeable squeak...
Speaking of that jacket....finally heard from Shawn with regards to the remake. It was finished yesterday but the collar apparently didn’t make it through his QC department so he’s redoing the collar. Hopefully I’ll have the final to approve any day now, possibly tomorrow.

My seal brown goat squeaks like crazy. None of the others have. I was driving my wife nuts in the car yesterday whilst squeaking along to the Andy Williams classic “Happy Holidays”. I really went for it. Almost could’ve passed for an instrument actually. I’ll be curious to see if the starcaidia 2* is a squeaker.

My favorite activity! Squeaking in the car. Badalassi has the best tone so far.

DHL did it again. Underpromise and Overdeliver. Better pics and more info to follow. Merry Christmas, all.

Patina was the wrong choice of word. I should have said character, wear patterns, grain etc. But yeah, it's a recent thread so perhaps not.

This jacket is a looser fit from my first Sheene-like jacket. This was by design and it is allowing for layering and is generally a warmer and more comfortable jacket. I like the goat; according to Shawn, it's drum dyed.
Here are a few more pics.
