I’m on the fence, I want more opinions, it’s a little tight to button as well.
This vintage N3A I got also has short sleeves, mainly because the elastic cuffs are old and do not extend fully. However, the body length is fine.
it's a car coat.Nothing particularly wrong with the fit, more so that the extremely long silhouette is unflattering on a leather jacket
I love that parka. Are the sleeves really that egregious? That one looks more borderline to me. The body length isn't noticeably short, so it *might* be saveable if you wanted to go to the expense of having the knits removed and replaced. I'd be very sure you think that would solve the issue first, though, as you may or may not recoup your additional outlay if you do decide to resell.
Yeah I'd get rid of it based on the sleeve length alone.I love that parka. Are the sleeves really that egregious?
Regrettably you may have a pointYeah I'd get rid of it based on the sleeve length alone.
Yeah but you're asking for fit opinions on the internet from strangers, take them with a grain of salt. If you'd ask on reddit you'd probably get the typical cheerleading there and happily wear it onward.Regrettably you may have a point
I find the opinions here to be pretty accurate most of the time.Yeah but you're asking for fit opinions on the internet from strangers, take them with a grain of salt. If you'd ask on reddit you'd probably get the typical cheerleading there and happily wear it onward.
I asked my girlfriend and she also agrees, sleeves are too short.Yeah I'd get rid of it based on the sleeve length alone.
Oooh that one looks good. Much better to have few but well fitting garments.I find the opinions here to be pretty accurate most of the time.
Compare to the sleeves of the Iron Heart Deck Jacket.
Looks like you have the same long arms problems I have. Although I'm a small I buy medium size to get 1" longer length in the sleeve. And they are still 2 inches too short. Then one year ago I discovered custom, and no longer waste my time having a closet full of oversized short sleeve jackets. The N3A jacket is too large and the sleeves are also too short. If it had an open cuff and not knit you could wear something longer underneath and let that take up the gap between the end of the sleeve and your hand. This vintage N3A I got also has short sleeves, mainly because the elastic cuffs are old and do not extend fully. That’s my girlfriend’s favorite coat I own.Oooh that one looks good. Much better to have few but well fitting garments.
It's a really cool parka, but I don't think the fit suits my body. It's not very flattering. I’m likely going to sell it or donate it to the local Veterans Museum if they're interested, since it is an original piece. It looks like you have the same long arm problems as I do. I would recommend getting precise measurements of your body dimensions, especially arm length.
Don't buy anything without seeing measurement photos of the sleeves and body.
Listen to your girlfriend's advice. Unless she is trying to dress you to make sure you repel other women.
Yes! Get a battery powered vest for those cold days and you will be removing the hat and unzipping the jacket. It's better than adding a whole bunch of layers. It's a really cool parka, but I don't think the fit suits my body. It's not very flattering. I'm also debating whether I actually need a parka, as the coldest it gets where I live is around -5 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m not sure if the Iron Heart Deck Jacket and a hat would be sufficient for that temperature.
Yes to the parka?Yes! Get a battery powered vest for those cold days and you will be removing the hat and unzipping the jacket. It's better than adding a whole bunch of layers.
Yes to the iron heart deck jacket.Yes to the parka?
I am a 19.5 in the shoulders but my sleeve measurements are usually 26, 27, 28. The suede jacket I posted yesterday was a 24 in the sleeves.Yes to the iron heart deck jacket.
I like the stuff they make. Sleeve are almost long enough. Bronson also make a few items that work well with a small long arm shape body. Helps out a lot on the motorcycle.
