You might be alright in the xxl. I started there but returned it for an xl. I have a 42” chest and 19.5” shoulders.

The great thing about IH is that you can easily swap it out for another size at minimal cost.

Yes, I think we are similar in size, I might be closer to 20” shoulder. I don't know what color I’d go with outside of black.

With khaki or olive, of course, or maybe navy blue. I find black very unfavourable for fabric as it takes away all the contrast and shape. I have noticed this with jackets, trousers and other clothes. In a direct comparison, the non-black version usually won. I recently noticed this again with my two M-65s.

Fit Check on this Old RMC MA-1?

Fit check but mostly just a question. Got this new Y2 indigo single riders. I really love the blue horsehide, much more blue than my navy blue premier 30's aero halfbelt...however there is a small qualm I have.

It's a bit too tight in the front which isn't surprising, I am about 15-20lb higher than my normal weight atm, so that I can work on. However, compared to my halfbelt, I find that I don't have much movement of my arms upwards. When I raise them up closer to chest level, it feels very constricted. Also seems odd since this has gussets in the shoulders

Now, besides the length, the shoulder and pit to pit measurements are pretty close, within an inch. And the leather is more supple for sure. However in the half belt I feel like my arms just have much greater movement. Why? Is this just due to the pattern you think, or do I need more pit to pit/shoulder? I like the look of a sleek single riders like this with a collar..wonder if there is anything else I can check out that will be a little less constricting, already have a sheene which is probably in the middle of the two in terms of movement

Debating on keeping this, I love the leather, and it looks great. Construction quality seems nice. Hate the nylon sleeves though. Maybe I just need to break it in and lose a couple pounds.

Here is my half belt for comparison which is comfier. However do note, I was probably 15-20 lbs skinnier here so not the most fair comparison. However even now it still feels less constrictive, and it's also a slim 42.

Pretty sure it's because of the higher arm holes on the Y2 versus Aero(at least I found that to be the case on the Y2s and Aero I've owned) so pattern diffs

I was wondering that too, forgot to mention that as a possibility. Problem is I can't try these on before buying, I wish there was like a measurement to go off for arm hole height...kind of hard to guess on that department

Know the struggle man, and I agree that it would be awesome to get those measurements when shopping as measurements are great! but when everyone does it a bit different it still not 100% bulletproof. Still, the more you have to go on the better

@WolfofStateSt Your MA-1 is a bit short right now but ok if you're going for that look. If you go up one size the length will be good but the body will be boxier. Buzz Rickson has what they call a slender fit long, that fit should fit you better.

@Jedy617 Your Y2 looks good but a bit on the slim side. I will assume it is a tag size 44. Compared to your Aero 30s half belt in size 42, the Y2 single rider size 44 will feel like it's half size smaller because of the sharp armholes/sleeve angle and slim sleeves. The problem is, that the Y'2 single rider in size 46 is gonna be quite boxy at the hem, 23" hem width. I think your Aero size 42 has 21.75" hem width and same as the Y2 size 44. This is a tough one. The indigo horsehide is amazing, nice deep color and easy wearing. But their single rider pattern is cut too slim in the critical moving spots. If you're ok with changing the design to Type III, maybe find someone with size 44 indigo Type III to trade with, that pattern feels like it's got a bit more room than the single rider right under the armpits, also a bit bigger sleeves too.

Thanks for the reply. It's a shame it is from Old McCoy’s Steve McQueen collection, but it doesn’t fit right, and there is a mystery (toothpaste?) stain on the storm flap. I also find the wool knit collar itchy and irritating.

Does the Bronson also feature a wooly, itchy collar?
