Friends,

I recently received a custom A1 in moosehide from Himel after a long wait (+6 months). I must say that the moosehide is something else, the look and feel of the texture is like nothing I've seen/felt before, unlike deerskin is buttery soft, yet it feels sturdy. I have been wanting an A1 that I can wear more in a business casual setting but classic A1s are, as expected, more informal and roomy/boxy for my taste, so I decided to check if Himel could do an interpretation of the A1 and this was the result. Appreciate some tough love on the feedback.

The look and fit look spot on!
Dave and his team did a great job, and this is a one of a kind interpretation on this jacket.
Congrats!

I love it. I have long wanted a moose hide jacket after I sewed my brother a heavy bag for his home gym (stuffed it with leather scraps from a jacket factory). I choose the moosehide for its softness yet density. Many years of my brother beating the crap out of it....literally...... the hide still looked great. I thought damn that would make for a great jacket.

Jacket & fit look great. Hide reminds me of Elkskin, which, in the realm of soft-yet-tough leathers, is top of the scale imho.

fit looks great, seems like you can layer up or just wear a shirt and it would still work. I gotta add that that's a bold choice of color, will that darken over time?

I haven't had the pleasure to see elkskin @Cornelius, but thank you!
@Jin431 thank you! I don't know if it will darken over time, but will make sure to report on aging progress.

The fit looks loose and relaxed which seems a good thing if you're wearing the jacket all day in a business office environment. The close-up pictures show a much more muted color than the fit pictures on my monitor. The bright yellow would not work for me personally in a business environment which I would not bring that kind of attention to the jacket I was wearing. I do like the pattern alot
