Hey Jed, sounds like we need to find a better spot to talk hats than the Freehome Publix parking lot! Hoss here is just up 372 in Ball Ground, sounds like a Cherokee County Crease Police Precinct meeting needs to happen!...

I'm actually closer to that Publix than I am to Ball Ground proper...PM me and I'll shoot you my contact info

Well, in the spirit of the current thread raging on about how "brutally" honest to be when an opinion is asked...

That is an awesome bash! None of mine have ever turned out so well. I think HarpPlayerGene has mentioned that he prefers his bashes to be a little ragged (my term, not his) but I have tried to make mine as smooth as I could. So now I can add you to the list of folks I want to be able to bash like (along w/JimmytheLid and RBH). The good news is that your close enough that I might run into you shopping in Canton (I live in Ball Ground) and I can get a close up of your lid(s).
Oh yeah, it really does look good on ya...honest! (was that too brutal?)
Thanks Hoss.. I have worn hats all my life... my grandmother used to tell me when I was a child she had to take it off when I went to bed.:D

Creasing a hat is so easy.. when everyone finally sees how easy it is ... :)

Anyway, most do not know what these felts can take.
I dont mean abuse, but normal wear and creasing.
UNLESS YOU PINCH A TIGHT CREASE {or fold] IN A HAT...YOU WILL NOT HURT IT.
It may take a little work to remove or redo a crease but MOST will come right out.
Good luck to all new creasers... :D

I found these threads helpful...

The bash on your Campdraft looks like the first bash I gave mine. Then I found a photo of Jimmy Stewarts Open Road from the movie FBI story (Couldn't find that thread). The bash was a diamond that looked like it was hand bashed. Colby Jacks' Silverbelly CD is a great example. I fell in love with that bash. That's just me though, YMMV.

Hey DV-I got my first hat about a month ago, the same Tawny CD. I just want to say you did a heck of a lot better job than I with the first bash. I have since bashed it much "more" and love wearing it. You are really gonna love that hat!

That's the honest truth.
DV, that hat simply looks natural on your noggin.
Congratulations.

Thanks also to those w/ the bash links. Appreciated.

I appreciate all the input. This is my first fedora but I have a custom Western that I rebashed a couple times so I did have a little hat practice.
GTD: Have your Camp Drafts come in yet? I definitely agree that we need a Cherokee Co. Crease Police raid soon. Y'all shoot me a PM and we'll do it!
