Motorcycle jackets made their first appearance in the 1949 Sears catalog. These early jackets were noted for their use of Wool lining in three different Buffalo plaid colors. They also have the older Hercules label some with a Made in California script. By 1951 the newer label was in use as was the Red Quilt Nylon lining. At this point the Wool lined jackets are no longer available.

Please refer to the Sears Motorcycle History for more details on all the Sears MC jackets.

I owned two standard D pocket Horsehide jackets, both were nice but the appeal of the Wool lined jackets remained. I bought this jacket knowing it would not fit and pledged to sell when I was able to buy one that fit. I now have two wool lined that fit so this is up for sale.

Please watch videos and pictures for full details on the jacket.

Thanks for watching! Sorry about the jacket. Hang around here and you will see plenty of stuff of interest here and in the Outerwear section.

Yes sir, I have been building a little collection myself but wanted Herc for my wife. I wear a size 50 so there isn't many older jackets out there my size and even then, a size 50 from the 1940's is really more a 46 if best.
