IMO, you couldn't have bought a nicer Brooks. Despite being more recently produced, the black / red label ones seem to be made from the nicest leather, certainly heavier, and the proportions look so much better. Bit shorter with longer sleeves. Also, these actually are made in the USA. Brooks was outsourcing back in the days, that's why there's rarely a Made in USA tag in any of the yellow logo ones.

Thank you so much for leading me to this one!

That weird darkening is something that would probably bother me, unless I could blend it in somehow throughout the jacket.
With vintage stuff you just have to accept some level of that kind of thing. It’s part of the experience, really it’s part of collecting vintage anything. That water stain reminds me of an old Vanson I had. It never bothered me as the jacket was 40years old and saw heavy use. It’s just that way with old leather. Not that you have to like it or wear it or buy it. But the fact that it’s not perfect sometimes makes it precisely that. At least in my opinion.
I’d wear the Hell out of that jacket if I could get in it. They literally never appear in my size. Never. Curl bro’s didn’t exist back then I guess.

Yep, I get the patina thing that comes with owning a vintage jacket. Every scrape, scratch and stain tells a story. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’d be more accepting of those stains if I caused them myself, if that makes sense.

I’m giving that jacket some serious consideration. It would certainly be different than anything else I own.

Buy it and write your own story! I love it.

Posting 21oz denim jackets now eh? Welcome aboard. We’re always happy to have new members. Your new jacket is in the wind btw. Should be there Friday.

Haha. I need to delete a bunch of my saved searches, fast.

Much appreciated, I look forward to the jacket.
