Indeed! The seller is from Portland, so he's close to the source. Maybe that's why it doesn't feel that rare for him.Why so cheap? This is a rare and a perfect jacket.

What is the era of the Fieldmaster label? same as the Oakbrook? Or earlier, this one looks pretty sturdy, I have the Oakbrook one and the Hercules one (60s and 50s respectively), both are quitenssential rebel without a cause flight jacket, well made.https://www.ebay.com/itm/293398166024?ul_noapp=true
Oy, seeing those prices... If I had a time machine, I think shopping at Sears would make my Top Ten things to do. Even adjusted for inflation, in 2020 US dollars the surcoats would come in at around $290, the motorcycle jacket at around $270, and the one the model's wearing at just under $200.The Fieldmaster label goes back to the mid 50s the Oakbrook label starts around 1962.
This catalog page is from 1961 and show the Fieldmaster label on a variety of leather jackets. They used the Oakbrook and Fieldmaster label on identical jackets. I've owned several jackets like the model is wearing they came with Oakbrook and Fieldmaster labels. I've also seen this jacket with the Appalachian Tanned and Tailored label. I assume they made the for Sears.
The Fieldmaster labels goes through changes during it's life. I don't think it lasted pasted the Oakbrook label.

How rough? Is it falling apart? It looks to have uneven wear with a lot of graining visible on one side. Is it a wearable jacket?Condition is rough.
Looking at the lining, I'd say pretty rough. I bought one last year in my size virtually unworn for about $200 moreHow rough? Is it falling apart? It looks to have uneven wear with a lot of graining visible on one side. Is it a wearable jacket?
