Here is what I am talking about on the zip close lower sleeve.

The Aero bunches up and forms a big bump because it has lining and a folded bottom going over the close flap, and the Vanson closes up much neater and tighter. The Vanson sleeve is what a zip close sleeve is supposed to accomplish.

I have additional leather put into the left lower arm on my jackets to go over my watches when zipped.

I got the prices for replacing the sleeve and front zippers today with RiRi metal symmetrical zippers. I have to order them by the yard then get ends tops and pullers by the piece, 6mm size for the sleeves and 8mm to replace that small 5mm front Talon. Should be about $50-70 for all 3 zipper parts and another $150 to put them in and alter the sleeve bottoms... ordered the stuff and should get by mid May.

This will make this jackets zippers much easier to use, way more heavy duty, and sleeves will close all the way to the end. Everything I wanted to accomplish.

Also got a notice the Vanson Horsehide Enfield was ready for pickup...going to get tomorrow AM and clean it all up....

Here is a USA made horsehide jacket that is as good or better than anything you will ever get. The leather on this jacket is so soft and flexible it feels like a old used cotton sweat shirt. It has the fastners inside for Vansons' streamliner vest for colder days.

The leather on these jackets are 1.02-1.05MM thick compared to an Aero or Alexander at 1.75-1.77 thick, so its weight is way way down while providing the same grain appearance. This makes it a real nice spring summer fall evening jacket also. Snap in a streamliner and it is ready for all winter has to throw at you.

This jacket is one for the books as a all year around excellent offering.

Now there is a horsehide Aero cycle jacket offering and Vanson offering in one thread to compare.

One of the guys pointed me toward some real nice low cost shoes to go along with my jacket collection.

These were $25.00 for a pair of Allen Edmond Broadway Spectators someone had painted the soles and heels with black glossy dressing and a pair of Fratelli Rossetti Italian made dress shoes in Tan natural leather total delivered for $65.00.

Those that know the brands know the prices for these...I finished cleaning up the AEs and the FRs are drying after relacing them back to the normal lace pattern from the ladder (can never tighten them up) trendy lacing pattern.

The Fratelli Rossetti laces were laced in ladder style from the factory then had leather tie ends glued on. I had to split the leather ends off, untie the knot. shrink wrap an end back on. remove the leather end, relace the shoes, put the leather end back on, cut the shrunk wrap back off, retie the knot in the lace, and glue the leather end pieces back together. I use Loctite hd glue and it sets in 5 min and drys in 24 hrs, never comes apart without cutting grinding it out/off.. I will add pics of them tomorrow when I take the camps off.

This was supposed to be an early no label Averex or Cockpit "made in the USA" heavy weight cowhide flight jacket. Paid $350 and got this:

yea sure cowhide, more like goat skin / goat hide (the $200 option):

and from this off the wall, jacket maker...

Should I send it back for a refund because of all the errors? :D

Compared to the Aero Anj3 jacket (earlier in this thread) the goat hide this one is made from thinner leather but much softer and much more flexible.

Got a message from the guy making my replacement belt for the missing Aero KOR horsehide belt today. He told me to expect it by the end of the week, now once the broken zipper is replaced The Aero "perfect condition" I bought will be in great shape again.

I will post pics when it gets here.... We both measured and designed a belt that would fit tight and look very nice with the KOR and be 500% stronger....The belt: chromed brass single tongue buckle on a 1.750X.250X46 horsehide double stitched to 9OZ cowhide with off white double stitching on black horse over tan cow hide, sides burnished with beeswax....strap with chicago screws holding a single keeper horse cow double stitched........ I got him to make this for a sample for future production duty or MC jacket belts...

PS: Tthe Langlitz bomber jackets' sleeves are much longer and the cuffs knits roll up under it perfectly. One could stretch out and the sleeve would fully cover up the arm instead of riding up like the mil A2s...the goat skin Langlitz uses is very nice......and thin.

Sure glad I followed it from a Craigslist noname leather jacket to ebay auction one (that I missed). Then got it in auction 2, after it was returned to the seller. I verified all dimensions on my own...because as usual none of the measurements listed anywhere for the jacket were correct....I was quoted 45 to alter sleeve length if needed, so no big deal to have that done after the purchase if needed, Langlitz does good work.
