Yes, that’s certainly true.

Just using these for private purposes so they won’t have to abide too much.

If they were part of my ppe they would only need to last one year as a normal worker is entitled to be supplied with all necessary ppe by his employer here, boots on yearly base.

I though hope they’ll last a little longer.:)

If you like Monkey boots and want some which are a few levels above Grafters in quality and comfort try Solovair.

Yes, those are a very nice option. Not quite for me - I don't care for the airwear typed sole, but if I ever spot them on deep enough sale I might be tempted to have that replaced.

Edward,
If you scroll further down the page there are actually 2 styles of monkey boot, one doesn’t have the thick airwear type sole but a thinner leather topped sole.

Those are sharp. Nice combat boot derivative. Why not go with a Corcoran 1500 or 1525? Have to admit the Corcoran prices are getting high, so a custom boot has to be a competitive option.

You refer to the WL's I posted? I've never handled a Corcoran boot but I own 3 pairs of WL and they are built like tanks, 100% indestructible. I think that nowadays a standard item (not custom) costs around 200 British Pounds.

Yes, I'm referring to the Custom William Lennons you posted as the combat boot derivative and reminding of the two Corcoran models I listed.

I got about 2 years of work out of that old pair of justin conductor's there ( didn't have my peet dryer yet, and the heavy rain made caused a mildew smell that killed the thought of a resole ) and I'm 11 months in on the new pair at this point.
They certainly don't look like they did in this picture when they were brand new, but the soles wear very well and the black leather doesn't show wear as much.
They are definitely still going strong.

I tried the whole strip and re-deye thing with these Corcoran jump boots, but I just do not like the very broad blunt toe.

They also don't fit me very well and I just never wear them.

I don't have a more recent photo but heres my favorite everyday boots.
These are the boots I'm not afraid to get things done in, but I also do my best to keep them clean and nice when I'm done.

Thorogood 4364.
The week I got 'em just over 2 years ago.

And After 5 months of daily wear off work.

I'm much less careful with these than I was at first so I don't give 'em the secon thoughts I used to, they've just become a part of me and I haven't bothered to photograph their aging in awhile.

Here we go.
2 years in on my 4364's, they're not without their fair share of scars and scuffs, but they don't look too bad.

They could use some more Obenauffs and could probably stand to see some saddle soap though.
