While they both look good, I prefer the second one to the first. The first appears to leave no room for layering, but is indeed a smart-looking and trim fit. I too have a jacket with ungusseted cuffs and have been surprised that I didn't grow to hate it: it fuels my "inner-Rocker." The sleeve length looks good on both, and if you can swing it, I feel you should keep each of them.
