Back on topic: I think the response to this thread has been sort of hilarious. If I may share my deep seated reaction, I think that maybe the gentlemen do protest too much. I suspect we're reacting to OUR MANHOOD BEING ATTACKED! Eep! I mean, think about it. Isn't that what's getting some of us a little boiled over? Just a thought. Also, consider the source. Somewhere in her blog she says she's attracted to men who can "throw her around a little bit". Basically, I just think she's never met a sexy man who was wearing a (real) fedora. I received a complement the other evening from a lady who definitely seemed to think I looked sexy in my Disney. So Ms Snow is just another point of view. Next topic!

apart from all that he was a staunch supporter of the way of life people on this forum fight to protect and a very very sharp dresser up to the day he died so i think he deserves more respect than THIS GUY !!

Let me at least clarify that I don't think of goths that way. It's just a stereotype they've learned to deal with - in part by mirroring it back ironically with a sort of f-you attitude.

I don't think we'll get very far by pretending to be (say) ultra-straitlaced obsessive-compulsive nostalgia noodniks. Even if it's meant ironically.

In fact you and I agree on one thing - it OUGHT to be about the cool stuff and not any so-called cool crowd (which instantly implies an uncool crowd). The boundaries, if any, must be kept fluid and loose.
