Fanny Cradock

Rude Once Too Often
or "Domestic Godess at Christmas"

Before Nigela Lawson & Martha Stewart, there was Fanny Cradock, All false eyelashes and bling, she started out in Black and white, which is rather a disadvantage when hosting a cooking show! .....Imagine Tallulah Bankhead in an Apron! .... Thats Fanny!..... do watch her other clips such as "Stuffing a Bird"?????lol I've watched this clip several times, but I'm still not sure if that Cartier bracelet comes into contact with the "Pud" cross contamination issues at the BBC?

I remember her well from my childhood, poor old Johnny she fell right out of favour around the late 70's.There was a very good docu soap on BBC tv about two years ago on her life which did her very few favours.

Class, I like to think of her as the first Simon Carwell when she appeared on Esther Ransoms the "big break" or something like that, which sadly some say was the nail in her career.

If you dont come clean I shall turn every light on in the house and throw open wide the curtains!!!!:p

It was a TV show in the 1970s when the public had a chance of living their dreams. One was to be chef in a top restaurant.

Everyone was very nice to the lady (member of the public) apart from Fanny. From memory I don't think she appeared on TV again.

This was in the days when TV was nice to its viewers, appears tame by today’s standards.

I found a clip of the programme on You Tube

That was the end for Fanny she lost virtually all her fans overnight.
