Fall/Winter '08-'09 Hats resurrection?

A few days ago I was at the barber's shop when the daughter of the owner gave me an article from a fashion magazine. According to this article it seems like in the next fall/winter season the hat will be a must for men. I googled the net and, actually, I found a number of articles about hats in the coming fashion collections.
The articles are mainly in Italian, but here an example of the Giorgio Armani's collection:

and here another:

Ciao Diego,

Long time no see!!;)

I truly hope your prediction will come true.

Although not in Milan but in Budapest I see some more black fedoras on the heads of others, also young people this time with brim widths as well.

I don't think that fedoras will be omnipresent as they were in the golden era, but at least they are not belong to the boring old men cliché.

Seing the hatlessness of the society and the row of fauxpas in fashion in general - it can be only better.

GQ and Esquire are now saying that hats are back too. Ralp Lauren showed his models with hats last year.

Classic Style said it in November '06. This community said it long before that.

I know! ;)

I've got my CS issue here with me :D

Hope CS and this community are right... :)

My hat is off to those who have been wearing hats all along, before hats started to become "in" -- in other words, the folks here on the Lounge! :)

I guess, in some ways, it would be nice to see hats make a comeback. And, I'd certainly love to see business booming for the custom and retail hatters out there. :eusa_clap But, truth be told, one of the things I enjoy about wearing a fedora is the fact that wearing one is a distinctive element of personal style in a day and age when, as a general rule, people aren't wearing hats. I'd be curious to know whether other Loungers share this same view...

Cheers,
JtL

I agree Jimmy. It's something that's part of personal style that is a bit unique. It wouldn't be as much fun if everyone started wearing one.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. By the time the 'fad' gets over here, it'll be the 'taco' shaped straw hats or a pink leopard print furry Hannah Montana fedora.
