Fake Aeros on ebay

Even if you no real knowledge about leather jackets, surely you'd look at that price and think 'nah, that's awfully cheap for what's on offer'? I even have doubts about those feedback scores, though one person had the good sense to point out their purchase looked nothing like the one on offer. How easy can it be to fake those?
Agreed. Easy enough to rip off a CR but an Aeromarine!?!? That collar alone will destroy 'em. Never mind the stitching button cuffs, pocket config, et all.

A clear counterfeit, even if the buyers don't realise. Reported it myself- I always report ebay violations- but tbh unless they're being threatened with a tm lawsuit, I doubt Ebay care.
Ebay makes money out of all this.
Just look at all shillbidding happening...
Ebay even "promotes" it .
Nobody is sanctioned. Ebay gets its money twice... For the listing , the photos etc...if sold to a real buyer, the commission ...and if not for the subsequent listing etc....
Why killing a cash cow?!

eBay has a vested interest in caring as the copyright holder could prove damages, however random people complaining only goes so far. These people are using edited images from Thurston Bros, and they would need to make the claims as copyright holder to really get action taken. I've had sellers use my images without permission before, and eBay generally has removed them, eventually.

Put yourself in eBays place, people report an item as a fake or counterfeit when the item itself isn't being listed as a brand or make - I imagine they'd/are be somewhat confused as to what/why.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no eBay fan and they and companies like Amazon who have sites selling fake items should do more given the profits they are making. As said before and per the last poster, eBay do/did have a form on their site for image owners to fill in when image theft happens, in my expierence this isn't an instant process, but has always worked when I've been involved in using it in the past.

In my limited personal experience of this some companies seem very hot on brand/image usage on these sites (Zippo) and some don't seem to care less (Filson).

I only really care enough to report people to eBay so as to not let a fellow collector get ripped off.
While I care, I'm not here to protect any makers. IF they are worried about their wares/image/brand, they can troll eBay and report as necessary. When someone gives me discount for "looking out", I'll change my mind...
