Rant time:

A few Sundays ago, I got this terrible burn on my chest, shoulders, and back of my neck. It even got on my hand. Well, it had just about healed and faded away, but I went for a walk along the river today and the sun re-burnt the burn! I had sunblock on too... UGH!! Rather inconveniently, on Saturday the boyfriend is taking me to a Navy dinner at his unit, and this severely limits my outfit choices.

No happy camper am I right now.

It's in the Officer's Mess, and the lads and lasses will be wearing their dress uniforms, so its a bit formal. Last time, I wore a sheath dress, stockings, and heels. This time, I'm thinking I'll wear a silk blouse with a v-neck and a contrasting ascot? I think it'll look cute, but still formal enough... What do you think?

Thanks Probably a black high waisted pencil skirt. The blouse is black with white pinstripes and my ascot is bright red. Seamed black stockings and black and white spectator shoes? And I'm going to do my hair like your Lauren Bacall style!

You're an absolute darling Rue, this girly chat restored my confidence The old boys especially like the pin-up look - last time, they were very attentive (but in a nice "can I get you another drink" way.)
