Elk Hide

Anyone have a jacket made out of Elk?? My supplier sent me some pics of some smooth grain Elk hides he just received & it looks very similar to horse. May have some samples sent to check out & see how it feels.

yes - I have L-W trojan m/c jacket made from elk hide. Similar to deer except heavier. I has a more pebbled texture that may be from the tanning process.

here's one of the pics sent to me of the lighter color. Thinking this would make a nice civvy/work style jacket. Supposed to be in the 2.5 oz range

it is a very heavy hide but is pretty pliable compared to 4 oz horse

I have a pair of gloves made in moose leather which I got from Norway a few years ago. It ain't too stiff.
