I just netted this one...mainly because it was cheap, in good condition, a colour I wanted and had its original box.
But what is it with that bow on the back?!
I'm guessing it's from the 60's. What do you think?

I looked long and hard at that one myself,.....nice looking hat.

Thanks rlk. You guys amaze me with your skills at determining dates. Is there something that pinpoints it to late 50's instead of 60's or is it just a gut feeling based on experience?

oh no, I didn't buy that! I stopped at $71.00. I was just shocked at the price.

I'd say so, that the pinch developed from being taken on and off from the front. There are some porkpie hats that are blocked in a teardrop shape, but this doesn't look like one to me.

The brown sweatband points at '50s. The color liner says late '50s or '60s. The style was relatively short lived, mid-late '50s through the early '60s.

Many thanks for that Dinerman. In that case I may need to think about returning it to its original shape when it arrives. I don't yet have a porkpie in the collection.
