A Standard Quality, what a find. Wish I were so lucky . Enjoy that one!

Just received this Stetson Featherweight today. Its ridiculously light and soft and is easy to shape. I'm not sure how well it will keep the bash, but so far has stood up well. Not sure it's age, but it was found with a large collection of 30's hats, so it's probably close to that. Needs some more cleaning and maybe a steaming to make it whole again. If anyone here is a size 7 and they want a super mint Dobbs rainbow never worn and comes with an old resistol box, there’s one hiding at eBay under the wrong title of Hobbs rainbow. Seller don’t know what they have. It’s a beautiful unique fur felt and ribbon! Only 60 bucks and 38 shipping.
A BIN deal! Nicest hat I’ve seen in a while, but too small for me. Good luck fellas!

It has that felt i call finger-felt....you can see your finger impressions when you crease it. Tissue-like. Very nice.

So yesterday I helped a seller make 3x more than what they initially figured by giving them an honest assessment of their hat after they politely asked for my help.

Today I was accused by another seller of being a Nazi white supremacist after I called them out for multiple falsities in their listing. They happen to be a habitual offender, and most of the time I just ignore it and let it slide.

So what's my point? There is none really. I'm just venting, as I don't think I've ever been called that before. As someone who's been to Dachau I don't take those words lightly, though obviously you don't have to have been to a concentration camp to understand the gravity of those words.

I guess maybe I should just keep my mouth shut.

Thanks, Brent. I try to be optimistic and believe people are inherently kind and decent, but it seems to be getting more difficult in today's ever growing fractured and polarized society.

If it had a been a one off, someone selling grandpa's old hat or something someone found at an estate sale, then I usually overlook the errors in those listings. I get that not everyone is a hat enthusiast like the members on this forum, and it's not necessarily worth their time to find every detail of what it is they're trying to sell. Only if I ask for clarification (like brim width) might I point out an error and offer a friendly suggestion.

This guy, however, has a horde of hats and is a repeat offender. In this case the guy would be well served to spend some time and do some basic research, and I've suggested that more than once. I've even complimented him on his collection and tried to explain he's actually doing himself a disservice by making stuff up and providing false information. To me ignorance is a choice, and I admittedly have little tolerance for that. I could have been more diplomatic in my last correspondence, but I certainly didn't expect the reply I received.

Anyway, thanks for reminding me that the world needs more kindness.

It certainly looked much more fine when you sold it. I suspect he thought he was making an improvement but it didn’t work out. Now just cutting his losses. Price now much less than you sold it to him for.

That ribbon sure is unique.
