20's Borsalino Homburg. Mayser scored an equally awesome Borsalino from the same seller.
Yes this one looks fantastic too. What is strange is the liner and sweatband photos are the same the first hat. It could be that they are similar so the seller shared photos. Also the seller hasn't been responsive. Hopefully all turns out ok.

I heard back from the seller so just slow. Let me know what you find out. Both of these hats are some of the oldest Borsalino soft felts I have encountered and I have never seen any in such great condition.

I got a 3X for 70 bucks in near-mint condition, but it wasn't a Western, it was a 50's-era fedora. Still, I count myself very lucky - I was really wowed by the quality. It's a fantastic hat.

I'm new to the world of hats, but I'm developing an interest very quickly, thanks to all of you. I've been considering a nice panama hat from Panama Bob, but I thought I'd try my hand at a cheap one first to see how I like them. And this one could serve as a great beater later on.

I picked up this one on eBay $15, shipping included. With the iron and steam kettle, I was able to pump some life back into it. And of course, I'm a suckered for the pencil roll.

Java....I have a whole pile of ebay hats i need to send you buddy!!! Not to shabby with that kettle!! I bought a steamer, and still haven't managed to bring an ebay buy back to life...lol

I had to take a break from the ebay vintage investment scene. They always look savable in the pics on the bay.........they somehow morph into " This couldn't be the same hat I bought", when i open the box.....lol

I'd love to see an ad for a used car hat they would write...........

I'm not of the opinion that the final production of a closing hat factory means anything special. IF you do a crappy job because you are talking with co-workers about what you are going to do with no job and you miss some stitches or fail to pounce it who's going to fire you 2 days from being kicked out the door?

For the little I spent, it was worth the risk. But I'm not sure I'm brave enough to put down real money for an eBay purchase. Besides, I'm afraid with my 7 1/2 to 7 5/8 head, I'd end up with an expensive hat that didn't fit.
