I've been wanting a '50s Cavanagh Milan, such as worn by Sinatra, but I'll settle for the next best thing, such as this Dobbs. I still can't believe no one else bid on it.

Brad I think the box picture being the main picture for the listing caused that. If they had uploaded the picture of the hat more would have bid on it. I have seen this happen several times with listings.

Do not procrastinate...

Reduced by 5k! shakeshead

I wrote the seller stating that for 20k I would need to see better photos and was responded to with the most vituperative, condescending & uncivil reply:

i have seen your hats..imo...where do you find such hats?..i bet western appalachia..looks like they were stolen from the set of 'Deliverance' overpriced even at 30 bucks..you are not exactly the person to buy one of my extra hats..just my opinion.
again, you are not the client able to afford a museum quality hat..i bet you are from western appalachia..your language gives you away..have a good day and stay away from your sister

Kevin McAndrew 7 1/4 on eBay

I saw a nice custom grey Kevin McAndrew 7 1/4 with a clear hat box on eBay recently, but the brim is too stingy for me. It's 1 7/8" wide. I have a brown KM with a 2" brim that I absolutely love, so I'm a little bummed that I have to pass it up. Link listed below if anyone else would like to place a bid. Mine has very soft felt, shapes easy, so I'm sure this seller's hat is just as nice...

Just for fun, Rick, why don't you ask the poor suffering creature for the oval measurements? Perhaps he might even disclose the hat size. :D lol

$400? Well, seems it's been reuced to $300. What a steal...not. shakeshead

Not that long ago someone would have jumped on it at $300, I think. There was a period when Whippets in that size did very well. Of course, those were hats where the bidding started at a more reasonable amount and the prices went up through bidding. I think some sellers really shoot themselves in the foot by setting a high starting bid.

Cheers,
Tom

That Whippet is one thing but in terms of gaganess there's still plenty of room...

Stetson Strat with box for a mere $749 - and 99 cent:

This world has finally become a really bad place... ;)

That Strat has been on eBay for a while now. I remember seeing it a while back. No way they'll get $750 for it. I'm currently bidding on a vintage Knox, but if that falls through I'll look into the Strat more and make them an offer they can't refuse.
