Isn't "Echter" German for Genuine?
Wow, what a neat old hat, Steve!
I don't know what I'm more jealous of; the hat or the camera!
Hi Steve, very interesting Borso... interesting tall ribbon with wide brim. What clues you in to the time period?
You guys need to remember that the majority of these eBay Sellers are not "hat people", as in, they have no clue on hat sizing. Some don't even realize there is a size to a hat (saw one recently, Seller stated "measures 21 1/2 inches around, so it's a large size hat"... in what universe is that?).
Not mine but rare - old (1920s?) - small Echter Borsalino.
Score!!! First ebay grab.

No, I don't think so. The hat may be suffering from wide-angle camera phone distortion. The dimensions, liner and paper lining protector are very similar to my Borsalino featherweight with 2" brim. At least I'm hoping so.
Doggone. That is one fine looking hat. Out of all of the hats I've seen in the almost two months I've been on the forum, that might qualify as the perfect casual hat. I tend to like the thinner ribbons for casual wear. One thing I will say is that you're a great judge of hats. Most of your hats look like they were made especially for you.
And what a score for a first ebay grab! Wow! I'm pretty sure you'll love it. :eusa_clap

...I just drooled on my keyboard. One, because I've been looking all over for a Kitten Finish lid for a while. Two, the edge, the ribbon treatment, the color...perfect. You'd break my heart if you told me it was a size 7.
