I wouldn't want to steer you on this personal decision, but the deputy's comments are on target. I would add that the best way to become experienced with the qualities of vintage Borsalinos is to handle them. This one looks to be in good condition and I bet will come in looking much more attractive than the flash photos provided by the seller. The Fu Lazzaro hats were a related brand at one point... there is more detail on this history in several places on the lounge, including this thread. Some of our more knowledgable members might be able to add a vintage guess on this particular hat.

Mr. Lucky, what a great Dobbs! Funny such a light hat would also offer ventilation holes. I bet some steam will reactivate the shellac and make the hat behave better.

Very nice... look forward to seeing pictures when you get it. Two ounce bodies are one of the qualities extinct in modern hats. Hopefully the mild Buffalo fall will hang on and give you a chance to wear it some before spring.
