BUT not a thousand dollars cool!Fascinating. Although Knox and Dobbs were both Hat Corporation of America acquisitions, it looks like the Dobbs sweat might have been used to replace the original. That’s my guess.

And you know if it ever breaks it'll be at least $2k to fix anything wrong with the Jag.Yeah, but you have to have an Open Road as back up because the Jag's always in the shop.

I owned a Land Rover for a few years, it's a very similar ownership experience. Never left us stranded, but any time you take it to the shop it costs a small fortune.Been there done that.. when I bought my 97 XK8 in 2005 with only 24,000 miles on it… I thought how did they only drive it a few thousand miles a year. When I sold it 15 years later it had only 40K Spent a lot more time in the shop or the driveway awaiting the shop than it did the road.
I always remember Dion Sanders referring to Fred Taylor, running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars…. “Jaguars is the perfect team for Fred… he looks GREAT… but he’s always in the shop!”
Very true… and it’s not just the cost…. Most folks don’t even know how to work on them… and even worse they don’t know that they don’t know. Yep always took mine to a Land Rover specialist shop in Vancouver, an hour drive for any service, but they were good guys and knew what they were doing.Very true… and it’s not just the cost…. Back in the time of the XJ Salons there was a shop here who was converting them over to a complete GM drive train with computer & all using new Corvette crate motors, etc. He was selling them customer direct & thru dealers throughout the country.I have a 1987 Jaguar XJ6.
